Primary Care Network

What is a Primary Care Network (PCN)?

PCNs are local groups of GP practices working closely together providing integrated and extended services to the local population.

There are currently 1,250 PCNs across England and are based on GP registered patient lists, typically serving natural communities of between 30,000 to 50,000 people. They are small enough to provide the personal care essential to a community, but large enough to have impact and economies of scale through better collaboration between GP practices and others in the local health and social care system.

Brewood Medical Practice resides within the Stafford South PCN along with Penkridge Medical Practice and Rising Brook Surgery.

Services and specialist staff work between the practices within the PCN allowing all patients to benefit from their skills and experience.

Mike Cosnett MSK Practitioner, Michelle McEvoy Mental Health Nurse and paramedics Cole Pickering and Stephanie Clarke are all PCN employed staff. They rotate their working hours according to need within the PCN.
